IAI Projects
Find a Project
The Institute sponsors volunteer initiatives in the areas of research, education, advocacy and community service. As a member, we hope you will consider joining or leading an initiative, or contributing directly to the management of the organization. Volunteers must be IA Institute members. [join]
To get involved, read our list of current volunteer opportunities and write us at membership [at]iainstitute[dot] org.
We would like to provide support to local IA groups working on collaborative projects for the benefit of the information architecture field. We will add a search form for local group initiatives as the local project list is developed. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at membership [at]iainstitute[dot] org, if you are interested in helping out or adding your local group project to our list.

Get Involved
We are always looking for volunteers to lead and participate in community initiatives and management of the organization. To support new initiatives, the Institute offers project leaders the following infrastructure:
- Web space, wiki space, discussion list setup, and technical support
- Public relations volunteers who will publicize your initiative
- A conference call account
- A volunteer coordinator who can help you find people with specific skills to help you develop your initiative
- Over 400 members and a corresponding member database that may support your initiative
- A non-profit corporation (501c6) that addresses any legal and financial issues and ensures communal ownership of intellectual property
- A board of directors, advisory board, and technical and project managers to review your proposed initiative, check in with you periodically, and provide technical, logistical, financial, and emotional support
To suggest new initiatives or inquire about volunteer opportunities, please contact us at membership [at]iainstitute[dot] org.
