October 16, 2003 -- AIfIA (the Asilomar Institute for Information Architecture) has developed a new event sponsorship program to help promote and grow the information architecture community.

AIfIA's IA Events Sponsorship Program will provide financial, promotional, and logistical support to regional IA conferences, seminars and other events.

AIfIA's support for regional IA events could include:

  • Up to US$1,000 in supporting funds for up to two events per year.
  • Publicity to AIfIA's 400+ members
  • Assistance in finding speakers, determining a budget, and other administrative support.
  • Technical infrastructure support for event organizers, such as wiki space.

"Information architecture is expanding around the world, and is increasingly recognized as a serious discipline that provides real value to business. By sponsoring IA events, AIfIA will be supporting, promoting and expanding the practice of IA," said AIfIA President Peter Morville.

More details on the program are available at http://aifia.org/pg/ia_events_sponsorship.php.
